The quarterback and tight end of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers reached a big milestone this past week, and have a record within their grasp while in a Buccaneers uniform.

Throughout NFL history, legendary quarterbacks have often been benefited by legendary pass-catchers, and vise versa. After all, it takes two to tango. In the case of the Buccaneers, these dynamic duos have been hard to come by, even during the Bucs better years.

Doug Williams to Kevin House or Jimmie Giles, while fun, wasn’t exactly fearful. Brad Johnson to Keenan McCardell or Keyshawn Johnson won’t be on the top of any all-time lists either. Where do you go next? Shaun King to Bert Emanuel? Just kidding.

The point is, the Buccaneers and their fans are currently benefiting from or just may be the most prolific quarterback to pass catcher duo in the history of the NFL.

Against the Atlanta Falcons, Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowskiconnected for their 90th touchdown together in their careers. They had been tied with Philip Rivers and Antonio Gates, perhaps surprisingly enough, but with touchdown number 90, move to second all-time in this category. Coming into the season, they were nestled in with Steve Young to Jerry Rice on the all-time list.

Now, all that stands in front of Brady and History is, once again Peyton Manning. He and Marvin Harrison connected for 112 touchdowns in their respective careers, and currently sit comfortably with a 22 touchdown lead.

Now, given the otherworldly connection that Gronk and Brady share, that number is not as out of reach as it may seem initially. There is still plenty of pigskin to be played, and if it was even possible, Brady and Gronk are on pace to have their best season ever together. Certified lunacy.

It’s not outside the realm of possibility to think that these two can have that record all to themselves by next season. They both show no signs of slowing down, when on the field of course, and it’s also easy to believe that Brady will not rest until he has yet another place in the record books. After all, he is the most competitive being to ever walk this Earth.

It’s also a nice pleasant surprise that, if all goes to plan, Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski will call this record their own whilst wearing a Tampa Bay Buccaneers uniform. Who would have thunk.

Next. An offensive lineman who could also make history. dark
