It’s no secret that everyone in the NFL is tired of betting against Tom Brady, otherwise known as the GOAT by many. However, despite the multitude of evidence he has provided in his career as to why a person should, people still hesitate when it comes to putting their money where their mouth is when supporting him, even with the Buccaneers.

This is certainly not the case for Brady’s favorite target in his illustrious career, Julian Edleman. Edleman knows firsthand that betting against Brady isn’t what someone who cares about their financial well-being does.

That’s why Edleman has stated that he has bet $50,000 with WynnBET that the Bucs will make it to the Super Bowl this year. Edleman even doubled down and put a separate $50,000 bet on the New England Patriots to make it to the Super Bowl as well. If both teams make it, Edleman will net a respective $545,000 for his faith in his old teammates.

Given that the Bucs are defending champs, this isn’t a bad bet at all, and even bettors without as large a personal stake as Edleman would probably agree. Not to minimize the other teams the Bucs could face, as each is a challenge in their own right, but the largest challenge against Edleman’s bet and Tom Brady will undoubtedly be the Green Bay Packers, who the Bucs barely beat in last year’s playoffs.

The Patriots’ path is undoubtedly a tougher one than the Bucs’, but playoff Bill Belichick is always difficult not to at least give a puncher’s chance, regardless of the roster he has to work with.

As to whom Edleman would bet on in the Super Bowl if both teams make it, one can only assume he would plead the fifth and become one of those “I just hope both teams have fun” guys. But far be it from anyone to judge him for being “that guy,” if he just won $545,000.
