The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face the Los Angeles Rams in the divisional round, setting up quite the revenge game for the Buccaneers.

As far as time goes, the NFL season is always one that never feels long enough. The weeks go along with the seasons fly by. All the way back in week three, the Rams gave the Bucs their first defeat of the 2021 NFL season by a score of 34-24.

Now, that game was in the city of angels at SoFi Stadium. This game will be in Tampa Bay at Raymond James Stadium, with both teams hoping to get back to SoFi Stadium for Super Bowl LVI.

It is shaping up to be a very intriguing contest, which is refreshing considering the blowout-heavy nature of the Wildcard round, as both teams are coming off said blowouts.

The other area of intrigue in this game is the one surrounding the concept of revenge.

There is a plethora of reasons why Tom Brady is the GOAT, one of them being that he is the most competitive athlete, nay, human being on planet Earth. It’s not necessarily saying that he holds grudges, but he does have a fantastic memory. That being the case, Brady will be out for blood against the Rams this weekend.

He has a fantastic track record when it comes to these “revenge games“. Fortunately, since arriving in Tampa Bay the Buccaneers do as well. One doesn’t even have to look that far, as the Belichick-Brady showdown in New England earlier this season is a prime example. Of course, there’s also a season ago, when the Buccaneers lost to the New Orleans Saints twice, only to beat them in the big easy in the same divisional playoffs and sending Drew Brees packing in the process.

Now granted, the Bucs may have their work cut out for them, especially on offense if the injuries to Tristan Wirfs and Ryan Jensen are serious. That Rams defense is no joke, especially considering they have little ball players by the names of Jalen Ramsey and Aaron Donald, plus a former Super Bowl MVP in Von Miller.

However, these are obstacles that the Buccaneers have been facing all year, and there’s reasonably that they will keep chugging along in their quest to go for to a Super Bowl champions. The fact that they now have revenge on their minds is an added bonus.

Next. More on the injuries. dark
