Proven trade options for the Buccaneers after Tom Brady

The free agents likely don’t excite anyone. Winston polarized a fanbase for the better part of five years, and Bridgewater is far from a flashy option. Keep in mind we are talking about the worst-case scenario for Tampa’s future.

If the Buccaneers really wanted to stay in contention, the best way to do this is by finding a starter in a trade that can replicate Brady’s current level of dominance. No one wants to talk about parting with draft picks, but if it keeps the Bucs in Super Bowl contention, maybe it would be worth it.

Russell Wilson

Has Wilson played his last snaps in Seattle? Probably not, but why would the Buccaneers not at least inquire if Brady retires.

Wilson is coming off a bad 2021 with an injury and a rough 2020 in parts, but the talent is still obviously there. Wilson still has a while left as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, and a pass-first offense in Tampa could be the perfect way for Wilson to wash the taste of Pete Carroll’s ‘pound the rock’ disaster out of his mouth.

Aaron Rodgers

Why not follow up the greatest quarterback of all time with the second or third best of all time next? Rodgers is still playing some of the best football of his career, and maybe the Bucs would overlook some of his warning signs off the field if he keeps them as obvious Super Bowl favorites.
