For a team like the Buccaneers, a bit of pessimism is never a bad thing if it keeps you focused on getting better.

Bruce Arians has been in the media for the Buccaneers for a few hilariously bad takes from other people that clearly have no clue what is going on in Tampa over the past few days, which has led to several other quotes flying under the radar.

No one who actually knows Arians or his style as a coach would listen to the false rumors that are circulating, but Bucs fans should pay close attention to his most recent quote on the future with quarterback Tom Brady.

Now, no one should have a perfect idea of what Brady will do after his surprise retirement, but Arians is at least showing that he has the right idea on how to handle the future.

Again, Brady could come back from retirement and it wouldn’t even be in the ten craziest things that he has done in his career, but if Bruce Arians isn’t expecting it, neither should Bucs fans.

The opportunity for magic to happen again may keep it so that the fanbase holds onto hope until the final minute before the season starts and someone else is calling the plays on the field, but that hope can actually serve as a detriment in other ways.

Waiting for something that is unlikely only sets someone up to be disappointed. The initial disappointment that hit when Brady finally confirmed the announcement was hard, but we are past it now. Holding on to the idea that he could come back will only cause more pain in the end, and it certainly isn’t the way for the franchise to handle business in the coming months.

Arians and company would surely be happy to get Brady back, but planning on him to return as a potential possibility only keeps the team from looking for a proper replacement.

It is hard to accept that the breakup has come, but getting back out there and looking for another option is never a bad idea. Something could come up and Brady could be back with the Buccaneers when they need him most, but no one should hold onto that idea right now.
