Buccaneers’ target from the Baltimore Ravens: Tyler Huntley – QB

Lamar Jackson is a superstar. He is an elite talent at the game’s most important position. He’s also irreplaceable in the Ravens’ offense, and his loss to injury this past season is perhaps the single most significant reason that the Ravens fell short of a playoff berth. However, that’s not to say that his backup, Tyler Huntley, didn’t do a darn good imitation of Jackson in his four games as a starter.

In those four games starting (against an extremely good slate of opponents in the Steelers, Rams, Packers, and Browns) Huntley threw for over 1,000 yards and added another 300 on the ground. Most importantly, he flashed poise and potential that are well worthy of the opportunity to find a starting spot somewhere.

As a mobile quarterback, Huntley is likely not the option that the Bucs would typically take a shot on – but with a talented roster already, and a potentially overhauled offensive identity, it may be time for the Bucs to change with the times.

Huntley would be dirt-cheap compared to most other viable free-agent quarterbacks but offers a high upside. Certainly, he will get his shot eventually. The question is: will Tampa Bay be the one to give it to him?
