Tom Brady made recent Buccaneers addition an offer he couldn’t refuse
By Rob Leeds
When Tom Brady calls you out of the blue to come play with him and the Buccaneers, there aren’t many ways you can say no to that.
Tom Brady as the greatest general manager in sports continues. Everyone knew that the Buccaneers going after Russell Gage was going to help the roster out, and Tom Brady’s hand in the situation only shows how much he cares about this team being great.
Gage entered free agency as an interesting option with playing experience and a decent price tag that most teams could meet. The one thing that the other teams were missing is Tom Brady.
According to Peter Schrager, Brady called Gage to tell him that the Buccaneers were going to be special in 2022 and that he should join up.
Could anyone on the planet say no to that?
No one says no to Tom Brady and the Buccaneers
When Tom Brady calls you with an offer like that, you have to accept. Gage is a wide receiver that has dealt with inconsistency during his time in Atlanta. Why wouldn’t he want to leave town to play for the best quarterback in the history of the sport and in an offense that will help him make the most of his game?
Again, you can’t say no to that.
The quarterback in Tampa is better. The Bucs have a better coach. The offensive scheme will put Gage in better spots. Every part of this deal worked in Gage’s favor, and Tom Brady was the reason why it happened.
It only takes a short time of watching to see that the Buccaneers are a special team with Tom Brady at the helm. After playing them twice a season ever since he joined the league, Gage knows better than most how this is the case.
Not that he really had a choice, but Russell Gage absolutely made the right decision to join the Bucs and compete for a ring.
