Tom Brady is still one of the best general managers in the NFL. This could continue if he finds a way to bring Julio Jones to the Buccaneers.

The crazy Buccaneers conjecture is back! Tom Brady returning has completely changed the landscape and playoff hopes in Tampa, and those high hopes improve every day when Brady is able to bring guys to his team.

Let’s face it; this is Brady’s team. If he wants a guy, the team should do everything in their power to bring them in. We saw this happen when Antonio Brown came in contrary to what Bruce Arians wanted, and while it ended in disaster, the Super Bowl ring still makes it work.

The Bucs have already been off to a great start this offseason, and they could get even better if they find a way to make Tom Brady’s wishes come true with the addition of another Hall of Fame receiver in Julio Jones.

While Skip Bayless may not be the best source on what is going on behind the scenes in the NFL, he reported today that Brady has already begun in his attempted courtship of one of the best wide receivers in NFL history.

Let’s get ahead of this before the train gets derailed; Jones is likely not coming to Tampa. After paying guys like Russell Gage and Breshad Perriman in free agency, going after Jones on a smaller contract to play a lesser role with the Bucs will be a tough sell.

However, crazy additions have happened in the past in the name of Tom Brady’s wishes, so let’s not completely rule it out either as we try to be rational.

Jones would ensure that this receiver room would remain the best in the NFL. The idea of pairing Jones up with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Gage would give Brady the best weapons of his career, and that is saying something.

Just imagine Brady having Julio Jones as his third option. There aren’t a lot of better options in the league, and Jones’ history of injuries would be offset by Tampa’s depth. Even if he did miss time for injuries, the Bucs have the guys to step up if they only get Jones for half of the season.

Crazy, but crazier has certainly happened. Let’s just wait and see what else Tom Brady can make happen in the name of keeping the Bucs as Super Bowl contenders.

One way or another, this is still extremely fun as a Bucs fan.
