A member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame called out the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for what he considers an insult. Luckily, the Buccaneers aren’t alone.

Hall of Famer Deion Sanders has been called many different things over the years. Shy or reserved would most assuredly not be one of them. Sanders, like all the best things in life, never changes.

Sanders, who is currently the head coach of the Jackson State football team, was not shy about his feelings towards the ten NFL teams that did not make an appearance at the recent pro day that took place at his school.

Sanders was nothing short of irate in his condemnation of the fact that a league that claims to support racial equality would not have a full representation at his pro day as he tries to build a more nationally-focused culture at the traditionally-small school.

The Buccaneers were one of the ten NFL teams missing from the pro day, which is undoubtedly not a great look when one of the most recognizable coaches in the sport has bad things to say about your team.

In defense of the Bucs, Tampa has been consistent in promoting and drafting the best person for every job, regardless of the school they attended or any other factors. The Buccaneers have done plenty to target small-school guys in the past, so not focusing on Jackson State is not the massive indictment that this comment would make it seem.

Sanders finished by saying that if he sees any of the missing ten NFL teams at SEC pro days, he will make not be holding his tongue, a threat that anyone who knows anything Sanders will absolutely not doubt. However, need will absolutely play a role in where the Bucs go.

It will be interesting to see now if the Bucs say anything to respond, but we can rest assured that this decision likely had to do with need above all else.
