Rob Gronkowski makes his feelings towards Buccaneers clear

Few players were as unexpected and impactful in their arrival to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as tight-end Rob Gronkowski was.

In his two seasons with the team, he has proved why many consider him the greatest to ever play his position. Even at his advanced age compared to many of his peers at the position, Gronkowski has continued to dominate his opponents.

Time and time again, he provided Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady with mismatches to exploit. As if his receiving ability wasn’t enough, Gronkowski continues to be an exceptional blocker for both Brady and the Bucs running core as well.

Many suspected that with the announcement of Brady’s return, Rob Gronkowski would quickly follow suit and re-sign with the Bucs for a final ride with his old buddy. However, Gronkowski has yet to re-sign with the team for whatever reason.

Bucs fans have reason to be hopeful though. Gronkowski was speaking to SB Nation this week and made it clear that if he does decide to return this coming season, it will only be as a Buccaneer. 

With that being the current situation, all Bucs fans can do now is wait to see what the future Hall of Famer’s next move is.

Without him, the Bucs would still have Cameron Brate to fill the void, who has shown promise in his rare opportunities.

Hopefully using a new addition or Brate this season will be unnecessary, though. It’s hard to imagine what will most-likely be Brady’s last season not accompanied by Gronkowski, not to mention it would be a major loss for the Bucs.

But given this news, the smart money should definitely be on Rob Gronkowski’s return; he probably just wants to enjoy his offseason as long as possible in the meantime.
