The Buccaneers have too many receivers
Scotty Miller
Scotty Miller may be a fan favorite after a few miraculous moments during his short career, but expecting him to be on the roster come the start of the season is placing your faith in the wrong places.
The Bucs already have Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Russell Gage, Breshad Perriman, Tyler Johnson, and Jaelon Darden on their roster as genuine final roster options. Perriman is the only questionable one, but there are also names like Cyril Grayson and the draft to keep in mind as well.
Tampa isn’t getting rid of any of the other guys, even when considering how bad Darden was in year one, and it is quickly becoming clear that there won’t be room for an undersized wideout on this roster with so many better physical options.
Miller isn’t a slot as many people incorrectly believe, and his lack of hight and blocking talent make him a difficult success story on the outside when you have guys that have the same speed but better additional talents to use instead.
It might not be easy, but the Bucs need to recognize that Miller isn’t going to move the needle much longer, and if they can’t find a trade partner soon, we are inching closer to Miller getting cut.
