With the 91st overall pick, the Buccaneers select James Cook – RB (Georgia)

Not to be outdone, the Bulldogs’ offense was pretty good last year as well, even if they were outshined by the defense. To sum it up, they had a good little ballclub.

That said, the Bucs draft running back James Cook in the third round, their second pick of the draft after the hypothetical trade with the Chargers.

Leonard Fournette is back in Tampa Bay, as is Giovanni Bernard. However, Ronald Jones is gone, and a replacement is still needed even with Ke’Shawn Vaughn still in the fold. Running back is the most expendable position in all of sports, so with that being the case, the third round is an appropriate place to take a swing on a quality prospect.

James is the younger brother of Dalvin, the stud running back for the Minnesota Vikings. The genes are all-world athletic genes are certainly shared, and Cook would be a great replacement for Jones as a change of pace back to Fournette. The Bucs are clearly fans, as evident by his visit, and who knows? Maybe there will be two Cook brothers as starting running backs in the NFL one day.
