The Giants may be done with Kadarius Toney after just one season, but that doesn’t mean the Buccaneers should rule him out as an option.

The Buccaneers may have a large wide receiver room, but that doesn’t mean they have a deep group. The unit has some great names at the top and a few good names in the middle that have flashed at various points, but let’s not pretend that this group is flawless.

Tyler Johnson, Scotty Miller, and Jaelon Darden have some questions surrounding their futures and play, and the Bucs should be more than willing to look at receiver in the draft if the value is there.

However, the Bucs do have some other needs with their top picks, and waiting for a mid to late option might have uninspiring effects. Instead, the Bucs could trade that Day Two or Day Three pick for a guy that was drafted in the first round just a year ago.

Wide receiver Kadarius Toney is finally on the trade block after a shaky start to the offseason. The new coaching staff clearly wants to bring in their own guys at the position, so a move like this does not instantly mean Toney is a failure.

There may be questions about Toney and his personality, but the Bucs have easily proven over the years that they care little about this when the football talent is there.

Does any team really have to worry with one personality upsetting the balance of the roster when Tom Brady is the quarterback and Mike Evans and Chris Godwin lead the unit?

Hint: they don’t.

The Giants won’t be looking for a massive haul, Toney is still on a cheap deal, and the fit in Tampa as the fourth guy could put Toney in a prime position to succeed in 2022 and over the course of the rest of his rookie deal.

This wouldn’t be anything crazy or franchise-changing, but Toney is more of a proven option than some of the receivers that could be available during the middle rounds.
