The Buccaneers taking defensive lineman Logan Hall in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft is going to impact Ndamukong Suh.

Not that this should fully surprise anyone, but defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh is officially on notice with the Buccaneers.

Suh has been a huge piece on the Bucs and has played a large role in the defensive turnaround the team has experienced over the last few seasons, but his price tag relative to what he brings to the table has just shifted further away from an advantageous position for his future in Tampa.

The Bucs using their first pick of the 2022 NFL Draft on Logan Hall shows a desire to use an extremely athletic interior lineman. This doesn’t seem like the type of pick that the Bucs want sitting behind anyone for a full year, especially when his tag is so much lower than Suh’s.

Suh is an old player, but he is far from a cheap option. The Bucs are hurting for cap space and need to get younger in several areas on both sides of the ball. The thought of moving on from a leader like Suh isn’t going to be very popular amongst some of the fans, but the writing is officially on the wall that Suh’s future is limited in Tampa.

Even if he does return, Ndamukong Suh is going to play a smaller role in 2022 than he did in 2021. Again, the Buccaneers aren’t going to target a guy like Hall if they don’t see him doing anything as a rookie.

Tampa may bring Suh back to serve as another depth option and as a leader on a team that is looking to compete for a Super Bowl, but no one should expect him to be a lock to return after the Bucs made their future intentions clear.
