No one is sure when Tom Brady is going to retire from football for the final time, but his newest contract shows that retirement certainly has its perks.

NFL players will tell you on a yearly basis that deciding to retire was one of the hardest decision they ever made. The Buccaneers saw this first-hand with Tom Brady.

Brady had the opportunity to step away from the game, the hits, injuries, and mountains of time, yet he chose to come back and give it one last shot to win.

Thats the problem for some players; it’s hard leaving when you’re on top. Chasing wins and rings is always what keeps the best athletes in the sport.

Brady has accomplished everything possible in the NFL, is very wealthy, and has expressed an interest in seeing his family more, but making that decision to stay home was too much to come to grips with.

Brady is back for at least one more year, but that doesn’t mean that retirement isn’t looking back at him with one of the best paydays of his career.

Tom Brady is one of the few players in the NFL that is actually making less money while playing. Why? Well, Brady’s contract with Fox Sports is good for $375 million over ten years. $375 million to stay around the game, avoid the hits, and to get more time to spend with his family during the week. Do you think that doesn’t make retirement seem all the more enticing?

To put this in perspective, Greg Auman showed how much Brady has already made during his career and how much he will make in the booth.

Does it make sense now?

Fox Sports is showing how much they value having a guy like Tom Brady and how much of a draw that will be for viewers. The deal couldn’t be better for both parties, and moments like this could make it all the more enticing for other players to follow Brady’s lead down the road.
