Hard truth Buccaneers need to accept about the 2022 schedule

The Buccaneers should’ve abandoned talks of a perfect season as soon as the opponents were announced. It might be hard to pull this off in just the first four games.

This season is going to be an absolute bear for Tom Brady and the Buccaneers.

In the realm individual regular seasons, this one could take the cake as one of the most difficult in Tampa history.

The Bucs have two games against the Saints, a team they haven’t beaten in the regular season in two years, two against the Falcons and Panthers (should be four easy wins), the Rams (Super Bowl champs), Bengals (Super Bowl runner ups), Packers, Chiefs, Ravens (last three MVP winners), 49ers (NFC runner ups with a new and better quarterback), Browns (a scary team if Deshaun Watson is back), the Cowboys with Dak, the Cardinals with Kyler, and then the Steelers and Seahawks (two games that won’t be pushovers).

This is the schedule from Hell. The World Cup Group of Death from any year has nothing on this schedule.

Make no mistake, the Buccaneers are about to go through the meat grinder, and coming out with nine or ten wins should still be celebrated as a success.

The playoffs become their own story if you can just make it in, but don’t delude yourself into thinking that the Bucs are even a lock to win their division.

This might seem a little doom and gloom for a time that is still months out from the regular season, but the good news is that surviving this regular season and making it into the playoffs could ensure that the Buccaneers are better prepared for the rigor of the postseason than any other team in the league.

Strap in, folks. This is about to be more than a bumpy ride, but we can all trust in Tom Brady to help steer the ship through the storm.
