The easier opponents for the Bucs that are outside of the division are the Seahawks, Steelers, 49ers, and potentially the Cardinals.
The Seahawks and the Steelers will have bad quarterbacks under center one way or another. However, the Steelers do have an excellent supporting cast, so this game is hard to judge as a win outright.
The 49ers and the Cardinals are wildcards. The Niners did get better at the quarterback position if they are going to move on from Jimmy G. If he stays, this game should be easier to win. Trey Lance will be a different story. The Cardinals are wild because they come towards the end of the season. They usually play well at the start, but the do fall off late. Will they follow this pattern and smooth things out with Kyler? Or will they collapse against the Bucs late in the season?
As for the projection for the season as a whole, the Bucs should fall somewhere in the 10-11 win range. You can’t possibly look at this schedule and see way more than that. 10-11 seems fair and should put the Bucs in the playoffs, and that is all that matters.
A healthy dose of realism is needed with something like that, but if you want to blindly predict a perfect season despite going up against the best teams in the league, the choice is yours.
One way or another, this Bucs team is going to make some noise. It’s just going to take a lot of work and excellent performances from everyone involved.
