Easiest roster cut for Buccaneers to make before camp begins

Jake Camarda is the starting punter for the Buccaneers in 2022. There is no reason for the team to bring Bradley Pinion into camp.

The Buccaneers want to have as many bodies in camp as possible to ensure that the best product is on the field by the end of the season.

That means moving pieces around before training camp begins to ensure that the dead weight is gone before the rubber meets the road, and that could mean moving on from veterans that have no shot of making it on the field in 2022.

This brings us to Bradley Pinion. In terms of futures in Tampa, there is nothing here for him. The Bucs would be helping everyone to cut ties sooner rather than later.

As much as we might not like how he made it to Tampa, Jake Camarda is the starting punter now. The Bucs spending a fourth-round pick on a punter to leave him on the practice squad or cut him outright would be cause to fire the entire front office staff.

In addition to Camarda, the Bucs probably saw enough from Pinion last season to know that he has no place in Tampa regardless. Punters don’t really have that much of an impact on games, but having one of the worst punters in the league is something to keep an eye on.

Camarda or not, Tampa had to know that they needed a change at the position. Even if the Bucs want to bring in someone else to help push Camarda (although we would still see this as a waste), at least that would make more sense than keeping Pinion on the roster.

The Buccaneers have already committed to a change-likely committing too much to this end. Bradley Pinion needs a change of scenery. The next move to make is obvious. The Bucs shouldn’t wait any longer.
