Devin White has all the potential in the world on the Buccaneers. We just need to see a little bit more of that translating in 2022.

Devin White has become a bit of a difficult player to analyze for the Buccaneers. Based on high draft status, a lovable personality, and some very high top-end play, any criticism of White gets shouted down by the Bucs faithful on social media.

What’s new for Bucs Twitter?

Still, there is a middle ground that Buccaneers fans need to acknowledge when it comes to White, his past play, and what his future holds in the NFL.

For starters, the Bucs were absolutely right to pick up White’s fifth-year option. There is no way on the planet that a team could let a player as integral and White walk after only four years. Making that decision after three years is out of the question.

The Bucs saw good and bad from White. This is generally to be expected for a young player, and buying another year to get a proper evaluation on a cheap deal is the best way to go about this.

White now has two years to show that he can play at a high level and do it consistency, and that makes perfect sense for a team that is trying to project what it will be without Tom Brady at the helm very soon.
