The overall image of Devin White for the Buccaneers

Overall, Devin White is a good player that still needs to grow. Again, this isn’t a knock against a guy that is only 24. Players grow. They stumble. They learn where to be better in the future. In much the same way that it isn’t fair to deride White completely for two less than average seasons, it also isn’t fair to enshrine him as infallible after one great one.

There is room to grow here, and Bucs fans need to expect as much from a guy that could be the face of the franchise and the sole defensive leader sooner rather than later.

It is okay to expect more from your players, especially those that stand in line to become the highest-paid in the league at their position.

Devin White is this type of player, but he still needs to show us more if he wants to break the bank a few years from now. The potential and the talent are there, but we still need to see more against the pass and from a consistency standpoint if we are going to become confident that White is a vital piece for years down the road.

For now, the only place that Devin White belongs is in Tampa competing for another Super Bowl. Everything else will have a way of working itself out.
