Young offensive players for the Buccaneers

Cyril Grayson

Cyril Grayson was one of the most explosive players on the Buccaneers last season. What he was able to do with so few minutes on the field was nothing short of spectacular.

It is clear that the former track star has a legitimate connection with Tom Brady from what we saw, and there is a legitimate chance that Grayson starts the season on the 53-man roster after making a compelling case as the WR3 for the Bucs after the Antonio Brown debacle.

Tyler Johnson

Tyler Johnson was supposed to show us what Cyril Grayson did in 2021. Johnson was a pick that almost everyone loved when it was made, but he has struggled to live up to the hype since then.

There have been moments where the former Minnesota receiver has looked the part, but he needs to take that next step in 2022 if he wants to keep his job long-term.

The good news for Johnson is that he showed a lot of upside last season, and more reps should be all he needs to make a case to stay in contention.

Issues

This is pretty much where the list ends. The rookies are obviously in their own category, but the tight ends, quarterbacks, and offensive line should be pretty old across the board if you leave out Tristan Wirfs.

There are a few guys like Ke’Shawn Vaughn and Jaelon Darden that would fall into the same category as the other guys on this list, but it is hard to see them having a huge 2022.

The offense needs to get more out of its young guys. That should start with this upcoming draft class with a bit more frequency.
