Tampa Bay Buccaneers fantasy football outlook in 2022
Final players for the Buccaneers
Chris Godwin- When Godwin returns to the field, there’s no question that he brings value to your squad. The problem is there is still so much uncertainty around his playing status and it can be tough to commit to making that bet.
Godwin is speedy, but he is a technician at running routes, one of the most skilled route runners in the game today, and a lot of that is predicated on his successful return from surgery because that requires a lot of planting and cutting.
He is still one of the most trusted receivers on one of the best offenses in the league, and he’s one I would take a mid-round flyer on due to the upside he brings when he returns to the field. This guy will be back, if not at the start of the year, at some point earlier in the season, and can help win you your fantasy league.
Cameron Brate- Brate is a Buccaneer that I would stay away from in the draft. No disrespect to the player whatsoever, because he has a lot of talent, but I believe there is just too much uncertainty with the fact that Gronk could likely return to the team, severely diminishing his fantasy status. If Gronk does stay retired, definitely look for this guy on the waiver wire. Until then, I would steer clear.
Bucs D/ST- The Buccaneers defense tied for 5th in the league last year for Turnovers Forced, which is a big indicator of fantasy success. Our rush defense is STOUT and our pass defense will likely take a developmental step up this year, leading us to be a high end fantasy D/ST. Our special teams does hold us back a bit, lowering the value, but our defense truly still keeps us elite. I’d say take a bet on this defense, wait until the first few go off the board and then scoop them up.
Good luck this Fantasy Season!
