If you aren’t sold just yet, you’re going to want to start getting on the Cyril Grayson bandwagon with the Buccaneers for the 2022 season.
Of all the players on the Buccaneers to make a name for themselves during the strange 2021 season, Cyril Grayson probably stands at the top.
Three great games and an excellent game-winning catch probably isn’t enough to earn any breakout player of the year honors on a league level, but there is still a case out there that Grayson won that for the Bucs last season.
What he did with so few reps was extremely impressive, and every Bucs fan should get ready to see what he can do with more in 2022.
While nothing is set in stone yet, Grayson looks like a genuine option to win the fourth receiver job for the Buccaneers. Scotty Miller, Tyler Johnson, Jaelon Darden, and Breshad Perriman are other names to keep an eye on, but there is no concrete hierarchy for this group yet.
Spots four through six are wide open and will go to whoever can win the hearts of the coaching staff over the next few months, and our money is on Grayson proving himself yet again.
The Buccaneers need a burner in their offense that actually has some NFL size. Sorry Scotty Miller. Grayson brings this size and can block better than most of his counterparts at the position.
As for stepping up when the opportunity presents itself, Grayson actually did this last season while Darden and Johnson did not.
The talent might be there and the coaching staff may love what Darden and Johnson bring to the table as prospects, but it eventually has to translate to the field, and Grayson has already shown that in a higher volume than both.
From his talent as a pass-catcher to his funny demeanor, Cyril Grayson has already been able to win over a lot of people on and supporting the Buccaneers. We should see this even more over the coming months and during the season.
