There is already a lot of hype building around Buccaneers rookie Rachaad White. Could he be a star in the making at the position?

If you have been paying any attention to the Buccaneers so far this offseason, it would be hard to get past all of the hype that has been created around rookie running back Rachaad White.

As one of the most athletic running backs to ever come out of the draft, White projects to be a breath of fresh air for a room that has generally lacked in this area in Tampa over the past few years.

Every interview, clip, or stat from college seems to make everyone more excited that Tampa’s run game could finally start to turn the corner under White, and it isn’t just Bucs fans that think this either.

Analyst Chris Trapasso already has a bold take regarding White; he will be the second-most productive rookie at the position in 2022.

This isn’t bold because of a lack of skill or anything like that. This is bold when considering Tampa’s history with rookie running backs and where White should start his career on the depth chart.

Even when everyone on the planet knows that White is behind Leonard Fournette and Giovani Bernard on the depth chart, Trapasso is of the mind that White is going to be able to use his unreal athleticism and history of catching the ball in college to help keeping this offense on track.

This might seem a tad bit overly-optimistic when considering that other guys on Trapasso’s list will get more reps and have some more hype for various parts of their games, but no one should sleep on Rachaad White or what he brings to Tom Brady and this Buccaneer offense.
