Buccaneers 53-man roster projections for 2022 season ahead of camp
By Rob Leeds
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are nearing the start of training camp. Don’t expect any major surprises with the construction of the roster.
The Buccaneers aren’t really one of those teams that has a lot of room for smokescreens. That never really happened under Bruce Arians, and it stands to reason that it won’t happen under Todd Bowles either.
Tampa doesn’t really have that much to hide with their roster construction either. Here is what the roster projects to look like:
Quarterbacks (3)
Tom Brady, Blaine Gabbert, and Kyle Trask
Wide receivers (6)
Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Russell Gage, Tyler Johnson, Cyril Grayson, and Jaelon Darden
Running backs (4)
Leonard Fournette, Giovani Bernard, Ke’Shawn Vaughn, and Rachaad White
Tight ends (3)
Cameron Brate, free agent signing, and Cade Otton
Offensive line (9)
Donovan Smith, Luke Goedeke, Ryan Jensen, Shaq Mason, Tristan Wirfs, Josh Wells, Aaron Stinnie, Robert Hainsey, and Fred Johnson
Thoughts:
Almost none of this should be surprising or shocking. The wide receiver room added Russell Gage, the offensive line has two new faces likely in the starting lineup, and the free agent tight end that is going to join the team in the next few weeks is going to be the main guy or second only to Cameron Brate.
