The Buccaneers need to make sure Rachaad White is ready

Throw the ball at this kid from the first second of training camp until the regular season begins. It doesn’t matter what he is doing. Ice bath? Catching balls. Meeting with the trainer? Catching. Team meetings? There should be a ball in his hand.

Young Buccaneer running backs have struggled dramatically in this area over the past few years. Look back at Ronald Jones and Ke’Shawn Vaughn. The team relies on passing the ball far too much for weaknesses in this area, and Brady is going to need as many guys as possible ready to step up to the plate.

This wouldn’t be anything weird like Urban Meyer converting Travis Etienne to wide receiver during camp, but White needs around 10,000 passes before the season starts.

This could work at well for White and one of the backup quarterbacks. Those guys need to throw the ball more and White needs reps.

One way or another, sharpening the iron of one of the most athletic players on the roster and trying to ensure that he is ready to go come the start of the season is going to be an easy way to add a dimension to the offense without having to spend any money or picks in the market.
