The Buccaneers aren’t that far removed from being the laughing stock of the NFL. That has obviously changed now with their tickets prices.

It still feels like it was yesterday when Buccaneers games were usually easier to turn off than they were to watch. Obviously none of us did that because loyalty runs deeper than reason, but it was tough for a while there.

All of that changed when Tom Brady joined the roster.

There is something about the greatest and most celebrated player in the history of the sport coming to your team that has a way of adding a bit of excitement to the team.

The Bucs went from being the laughing stock of the NFL to Super Bowl champions in one short year. Tampa became one of the best free agent destinations in the country. The Buccaneers were on the map again.

Then, tickets started to become a bit harder to come by. Prices shot up immediately. Season ticket holders were happy that their seats immediately became way more valuable, but the fans without season tickets noticed quickly how this was going to impact them.

Tickets that were once $50 were now $75 or $80. Matchups between Brady and Aaron Rodgers multiplied that number by two or three. Even the nosebleeds took a hit, and those sat empty in Raymond James for years.

The Buccaneers were one of the most exciting teams in the NFL, and the ticket prices reflected this over the past two years. Now, they have reached an unbelievable level.

As Greg Auman pointed out on Twitter, fans looking for a single-game ticket are going to have to start saving now. This is excellent news for the team and their standing, even if it does make the games a bit less accessible.

These numbers also show that fans will always show up to support an NFL team when the franchise is focused on bringing in quality players and trying to win.

The Buccaneers have hopefully learned an important lesson here. Either way, it looks like we have one more year of fun ahead, and it is time that everyone starts to appreciate how special this time in Tampa has been.
