The Buccaneers look like they are going to miss the chance to put Tom Brady on the field as their quarterback wearing one of the best jerseys in sports.
In the grand scheme of things, the Buccaneers moving away from the all-time great creamsicle jerseys in favor of anything else was one of the worst decisions made by the team that was not directly related to winning and losing.
Those jerseys were some of the best to ever grace professional sports, especially the NFL, and the team has understandably been making the right decisions in recent years as they have moved back towards getting those on the field again.
It won’t be every game, but even getting to see those glorious uniforms back on the field for a game or two per season will be more than worth it come the start of the 2023 season.
The only issue with this plan is that we won’t get to see Tom Brady wear them.
As much as everyone likes to take a bite out of every word that Brady puts out there regarding his potential future in the NFL, it is unlikely to ever actually happen.
Much like Gronk, Brady is choosing his words very carefully, and it would be more than safe to gather that the GOAT will at least be done with Tampa come the end of the season.
This means that one of the most recognizable players in the history of the sport won’t get to wear one of the best jerseys.
The Buccaneers have been clear that they want to wait for the supply to increase on these jerseys to be able to sell them when they do finally bring them back on the field, but it seems like a waste to not even build the intrigue for the #12 in those beautiful threads by showing everyone this year and then selling them later.
While not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, the Bucs missing the mark by just one year with two of their biggest brands is going to keep iconic moments from happening and hurt some profits.
