It seems like we are never going to escape the rumors surrounding the futures of the Buccaneers and star tight end Rob Gronkowski.

Yes……. The rumor mill is once again swirling about a potential Rob Gronkowski return to the field for the Buccaneers this season, and this time they have started from an interesting source….. Rob Gronkowski’s own girlfriend…..

Just over a week ago with ESPN’s Mike Reiss, Gronkowski made it very clear that he had no intention of returning to the field, and that his second official retirement was set in stone, even if his old pal Tom Brady decided to call to recruit him to come back and add to their prolific resume together.

However, a  recent report by the Tampa Bay Times Bucs reporter Rick Stroud sheds some light on an interview that Gronkowski’s girlfriend, Camille Kostek gave before a Sports Illustrated Runway Show this past weekend, where she stated that she in fact feels that the sure fire first ballot Hall of Fame tight end will return to the field.

“I am a honest lady, and honestly, I don’t feel like this one is the forever one”, Kostek was quoted at the event.

Kostek went on to say “So, I think maybe he’ll come back again. I feel like him and Tom are just having fun, like, ‘retired, not retired, retired, not retired.’’

It is an interesting view from someone so close to Gronk, and while I think that we would have all loved to have see him back in Tampa this season, and the Bucs may be leaving the door open for him just as they did with Tom by not bringing in another player at the position, I believe that the time has come to just take Gronk at his word.

Gronk is one of the best to ever do it at the tight end position, and his connection with the GOAT is obviously a major factor, but unless we hear otherwise directly from Gronk at this point, the time has come to move on and look for a guaranteed presence that can help our team win.

Cameron Brate can be a good contributor and will likely breakout to an extent this year due to increased opportunity, and the additions of Kyle Rudolph, Cade Otton, and Ko Kieft were made this off season to help stem the bleeding.
