Well, it seems like those rumors about Tom Brady leaving the Buccaneers to play/own the Dolphins was somewhat based in the realm of reason.

Most Buccaneers fans spent the last few months laughing at how silly the prospect of Tom Brady going to the Dolphins was.

The ridiculous nature of the initial reports, specifically Brady demanding a trade to Miami and then becoming a partial owner, caused most to rule them out immediately.

The Bucs would never willingly trade Brady. The NFL would also almost assuredly not ever let a player become a partial owner.

These facts made it easy for everyone to chalk this up as a bit of miscommunication between sources.

However, once Brady returned to the Bucs, the situation took a weird turn. His press conferences were filled with a lot of nothing on this end. He denied almost nothing. The tide of support began to shift.

Was there actually more truth to this than most initially believed?

Today shows us just how much truth there was to these initial reports.

The Dolphins did try to implement an impossible plan. How involved Brady was in this scheme is vague, although words like “conversations” implies two willing parties to a certain degree.

Brady will always have some level of deniability. He can site the desire to win in Tampa, his teammates, or anything else. Still, he can’t completely deny being in the dark about this plan.

One way or another, Brady recognized that he was stuck in Tampa. No one was going to trade the rightful MVP. The NFL would also never let something like this happen.

If the GOAT wanted to play, the only place that would happen was with the Buccaneers. Perhaps that sheds some light on the return from retirement.

One thing is for certain; Brady’s next press conference is going to be very interesting, and the joint practices with the Dolphins will be can’t-miss entertainment.
