Buccaneers player in greatest danger of losing his job

The Buccaneers could move their RB depth chart around after an exciting performance from Arizona State rookie Rachaad White.

It is easy to overreact to one preseason game. However, Rachaad White hasn’t just been impressing the Buccaneers for one singular game.

The past few weeks have highlighted a player with a ton of promise ad the talent to fill a number of holes on the Buccaneers roster, and it seems crazy to see White as the last guy on the depth chart after what we saw last night.

We will certainly need to see a few more great moments from White before any major changes come, but it looks like White could quickly become the RB2 in Tampa if he keeps this up.

Who would this displace?

Well, Giovani Bernard is one guy that will lose reps, but his role will allow him to still make an impact. The bigger change would come for Ke’Shawn Vaughn.

Vaughn currently looks like the third guy on the chart and the second between the tackles, but he could drop to the fourth spot if the Bucs decide that White is their guy.

White was better between the tackles last night, looked great as a blocker, and his hands as a pass-catcher where good enough to see him doing that a lot more in the regular season.

Pure stats are hard to judge based on the changes that happen on the fly as the coaching staff tries to test things out, but it should be hard for anyone to say that Vaughn looks like the better player.

If Vaughn can’t beat White out in year three, it looks like his chances of making an impact in Tampa could be coming to a close. There is still time to make a name for himself, but Ke’Shawn Vaughn is going to need to act quickly if he doesn’t want to lose his role.
