Buccaneers week one game just got slightly easier with unfortunate news
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers open their 2022 season in Dallas. The Buccaneers now have one less player to worry about in the game.
You never like to see anyone go down with injury, ever. Fans of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers certainly don’t need to be reminded of this, as it seems like they’re placing a different player on the injured reserve or the PUP list pretty much daily, especially as it pertains to the offensive line. Now, it looks like the Buccaneers opening week opponents, the Dallas Cowboys, are facing a similar situation.
Whenever the Cowboys peak, a lot of their success has to do with their offensive line. They had a solid group in the 1960s and 70s, a legendary one in the 90s, and another excellent group in whatever you would call their recent successful regular seasons. “Peak“ might be a stretch, but that’s a discussion for another day. One of the anchors of their offense of line will now be out indefinitely due to a severely torn hamstring, which means it’s one less starter the Bucs need to worry about.
Tyron Smith just never can seem to stay healthy. It’s really a shame, because he truly is one of the premier left tackles in all of football. A lot of people say he’s a future Hall of Famer, however, given his injury history throughout his career, it may be a little hard for him to get in. Again, I discussion for another day.
The man responsible for protecting the blind side of Dak Prescott will now be missing most of the season, if not more. It also means that he will not be on the field when the Buccaneers walk into Jerry World to kick off for the season. Surely Shaq Barrett will be licking his chops, as will Joe Tryon-Shoyinka who is finally getting a taste of NFL starting experience. It’s all the more, for lack of a better word “exciting “, that Anthony Nelson is coming on strong this preseason and in training camp to go along with the newly brought back Carl Nassib.
Injuries are the worst part about this great game we call professional football. Every game is an absolute battle, every season like a war, which makes every game all the more tough. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, battling injury problems of their own, will now be playing on a more level playing field as it seems the moment come opening week.
