Pressing Tom Brady question amid recent unfortunate rumors
By Rob Leeds
If Tom Brady and the Buccaneers didn’t want people to speculate, they would’ve given reasons for Brady’s unprecedented absence during camp.
Tom Brady and the Buccaneers had a chance to kill all of the rumors regarding his strange absence during training camp weeks ago. They chose not to. That’s fine-it is something that is totally up to the discretion of the player and the team, but they had to know that rumors were going to swirl almost immediately.
The first bit of craziness was that Brady was off filming The Masked Singer. This was light and silly, but the arguments did make some sense.
The most recent rumor regarding the absence is much worse.
If there is any truth to this, and it does also make sense when looking at the whole situation, one has to again wonder why the Hell Brady ever returned from his retirement in the first place.
There was nothing left to win. There was nothing left to accomplish.
Brady won enough rings, MVPs, and the individual accomplishments that no player currently in the league will ever catch him. Also, what he did during his second act with the Bucs made it so that it will be hard for any other GOAT candidates to follow him.
There was nothing on the field that Brady could gain from this. There was no need for money with what he has already made and what he would make from a T.V. deal.
Returning from retirement was only a losing scenario for Brady, yet he chose to do this and deal with the potential for damaging his marriage.
Again, none of it makes sense when you really start to look at it, and this strange offseason only gets a bit more weird for the GOAT.
We sincerely hope that Brady and his family are able to find a way to navigate the remainder of his time in the league.
