The Buccaneers have experienced far too many injuries to their offense to keep rookie running back Rachaad White on the bench for most of the games.

It is hard to find people who aren’t talking about the Buccaneers offense. Some are arguing that is is broken, while others are trying to stay fears for the short term and have everyone focus on what is holding this offense back.

Whichever camp you are in, it seems like everyone is asking some questions about player usage. Why is Scotty Miller staying on the field for so long when he can’t catch a ball to save his life? When will the offense be healthy?

When will Rachaad White actually get used in games?

Eight rushes and four targets through three weeks was not what we expected when White came to Tampa and impressed from the start of training camp.

The rookie running back from Arizona State played well in every game and seemed to turn heads in almost every practice, yet he can hardly get on the field when the Bucs already have a deficiency in their passing attack.

Leonard Fournette has never been on the field for less than 75% of the offensive snaps this year. This might be good news for the run game, but there is a reason why White was drafted in the first place. His skillset works with this offense, and the Bucs need to find a way to get him on the field for more than a handful of touches over the first month of the season.

White is still the most athletic running back on the roster. With his speed, hands, and ability to change direction, White is also the best pass-catching back on a team that desperately needs to up its pass usage. The fit just makes too much sense.

The Buccaneers may have a problem with wide receivers and tight ends that can catch consistently, but their running back room has a good duo that the team can lean on. They need to start leaning on it.
