Buccaneers Gold Medal Winner: Leonard Fournette

Let’s just get this out of the way right now. Yes, Leonard Fournette was stuffed on a 4th and 1 play, due to what many are calling for field vision, at least if Twitter is any indication. You know what though? It doesn’t matter. Why? Well, because the Bucs won the game and Fourentte was magnificent otherwise.

Just how magnificent? Well, “Mid-Season Lenny” was both the Buccaneers leading rusher and receiver in the game for one thing. Fournette rushed 14 times for 56 yards (averaging 4.0 yards per carry), and a touchdown. Not too shabby, but when you add on his TEN CATCHES for 83 yards and another touchdown, well, that’s special stuff.

We’ve grown custom to Fournette coming on strong down the stretch and in the playoffs. Well, it appears that Lenny had other plans, as he looks to have his swagger back as an all-around back. This game, coupled with the steady emergence of rookie Rachaad White, and suddenly the offense appears to be coming alive, at least as far as their running backs are concerned.

Sure, Fournette wasn’t perfect on Sunday against Atlanta, but you know what? He was still pretty darn good, and more than worthy of the gold medal.
