The Buccaneers just lost to one of the worst teams in the NFL. A coaching change of some type should be on the horizon.
This was one of the worst losses in a while for the Buccaneers.
Despite everything that has happened over the years and everything that was working against this roster from the start of the season, this loss still stings in a unique way.
The Steelers are a terrible team. Pittsburgh was without numerous key starters, refuses to use analytics in play-calling, and had a rookie quarterback starting against a team that was projected to make the Super Bowl in the preseason.
No one who watched that game would say that Tampa looked like the better team.
There was no point in that game where the Buccaneers even looked like a playoff team, and a huge part of that stems from terrible coaching.
The defense, offense, and special teams have struggled for long stretches of the 2022 season. The offense has been the most inexcusable.
The Buccaneers likely need to move on from Byron Leftwich if they actually want to win games and make it far in the playoffs.
What Leftwich has done has been nothing short of terrible. Yes, there are plenty of injuries to account for, but the run game by itself should have Leftwich without a job.
The passing schemes haven’t been much better either, and it sure seems like the young offensive coordinator is killing his chances of getting a head coaching job any time soon.
Leftwich is either in over his head without Bruce Arians in the head role or Todd Bowles is killing the offense with his head coaching marker. One way or another, a change is needed if the Bucs are going to play up to their potential.
Today was unacceptable.
