Buccaneers have obvious move to make with coaching struggles

The Buccaneers currently look like one of the worst teams in the NFL. A huge part of that is due to the coaching staff falling short.

Today is a dark day for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Super Bowl hopefuls with Tom Brady at the helm are no more. The hope and excitement that has existed around this team for the better part of the last two years is dead.

This Bucs team is bad, and a huge part of the struggle stems from coaching.

Coaching isn’t everything. The coaches can’t make players catch passes that hit them in the hands. There have been plenty of moments where the players leave plays on the field. Still, the coaching is inexcusable, and the Bucs need to make some moves if they want to win.

Whether it is right now or down the road, the Buccaneers need to move on from Todd Bowles and Byron Leftwich.

No one should expect the Bucs to fire Bowles this season. However, no one should expect for the Bucs to be great this season either.

Bowles inherited the best position of all the new head coaches in the league this season and has nothing to show for it. The defense is good, but defensive stats aren’t what are used to judge the success of a head coach; even one that comes from a defensive background.

Byron Leftwich is a different story. The Bucs should’ve fired their offensive coordinator a week ago, but the next-best time to do it is now.

The offense is terrible and lacks any sort of imagination that made it work in the past. Leftwich looks lost without Bruce Arians in the building as the head coach, and it is time to switch things up before the Bucs finish the season with the worst offense in the league.

The best move is for the Bucs to fire both coaches today. We get this won’t happen, but that is the much better way to prepare for the future than letting it ride as is.
