The Buccaneers need to get Luke Goedeke off the field

This dude has been struggling.

Arguably one of the worst linemen in football, Luke Goedeke is having a rookie season to forget in relief of Ali Marpet.

No one should’ve expected anything crazy, but even this was surprising based on just how bad the play has been.

Aaron Stinnie would’ve made far more sense for the Bucs at this point in the season with Tom Brady facing so much pressure due to a lacking guard, but an injury to the veteran backup only complicated matters further for the Buccaneers.

Goedeke has been out of his element for most of the season, and Byron Leftwich choosing to run the ball behind the struggling rookie makes the terrible offensive decisions all the more puzzling.

Firing Leftwich would fix the play-calling and probably find some ways to help Goedeke, but the Bucs would do themselves a favor by moving on to Nick Leverett for the remainder of the season.

Luke Goedeke might be better down the line, but the moment is just too large right now for the Bucs to count on anything. Putting the rookie on ice until 2023 is the much better move.
