Todd Bowles explains terrible plan after horrific Buccaneers loss
By Rob Leeds
The Buccaneers are basically dead in the water after losing to the Panthers. Todd Bowles did not have the right take after the loss.
How could we expect anything else? The Buccaneers have looked bad all season-today was no different against the worst team in the NFL.
Despite not having their starting quarterback, running back, defense, and with an interim head coach, the Panthers dominated the Bucs from the opening whistle. Again, the worst team in the NFL just dominated the Buccaneers with Tom Brady and one of the best defenses in the league.
The Bucs are dead in the water. Despite being at the top of their division still, this does not look like a playoff team. The players missed opportunities, and perhaps worse, the coaches look out of their depth.
Todd Bowles and Byron Leftwich are not long for their roles. They may not get fired this year, but this duo isn’t going to cut it with this roster.
While no one would expect Bowles to get his walking papers just yet, Leftwich needs to be gone, but Bowles is clear that he just wants to sabotage his job even further.
Leftwich has been a part of some good offenses in the past, but how you can watch this offense die on the field and say that Leftwich isn’t a problem is just silly.
It makes sense that Bowles would want to play this diplomatically, but this is just a bad decision. The offense is in trouble, and sticking with what they have is not how this team is going to get better.
The Buccaneers need a coaching change. In fact, they probably need changes at this point if they are going to get back to a respectable spot. Keeping the roster and coaching staff as is isn’t it.
It’s going to be a tough few weeks for the Buccaneers. Todd Bowles is only going to make it worse with this terrible plan.
