Buccaneers have great season outlook after win over Seattle

The Buccaneers might only be 5-5 in a bad NFC South right now, but the end of the season could look up dramatically for the Super Bowl hopefuls.

The Buccaneers needed that win on Sunday over the Seahawks badly. A loss there probably didn’t end the season, but it would have taken a lot of he wind out of the sails that is going to help as this team heads into the bye.

At 5-5, this Bucs team has not found the success that everyone expected a few months back, but that doesn’t mean that the team can’t maintain their current winning streak and carry that through the end of the season.

With seven games left against struggling opponents (Browns, Saints, 49ers, Bengals, Cardinals, Panthers, Falcons), there is a legitimate chance that Tom Brady and the Bucs can win out.

Five and five isn’t all that pretty, but being able to go 12-5 (even if Tom Brady is on pace for such a shockingly-low rate of touchdowns), would mean everything for this team in an NFC that is still wide open.

The Vikings currently look like the team to beat in the conference, but no one should have major doubts about Tampa’s chances in a game like that if their defense stays in its recent form and the offense can start taking more shots like it did against the Seahawks.

The process still hasn’t been pretty, but it doesn’t look like we are going to get a mountain of pretty under Bowles and Leftwich. As long as the wins are coming, many fans will be able to overlook the messy means by which we get to the end result.

No one needs to go crazy yet with any postseason predictions, but there is understandably plenty of hope growing in the Tampa Bay area. Let’s hope the team can keep meeting and then exceeding the hype.
