Buccaneers should bring familiar face back for playoff push
By Rob Leeds
No team is ever complete without a wide receiver that has incredible speed. The Buccaneers may partially have this with Scotty Miller, but Cyril Grayson is still available and can help with a final push.
The season is about to fly by for the Buccaneers once they get out of the bye. This week will be a bit of rest for the team and the fans before the final stretch that is sure to be an uphill battle.
The Bucs may be in a good spot to win out if they keep playing like they have, but every player on the team is going to have to be firing on all cylinders just to make it back to a decent spot for the post-season.
Unfortunately for Tampa, this post-season run is not going to have much in the way of a home field advantage (at this point, although that is subject to change) and there is not a free win on the rest of the schedule after what we have seen this season.
With so much uncertainty and difficulty coming up, the Bucs would be wise to consider bringing a familiar face back to serve as an insurance policy. Cyril Grayson could be that player.
Grayson hasn’t exactly been consistent during his time in the NFL, but his upside is as good as any depth receiver on the team right now. Keeping him healthy would be key, but he has a history with this team, especially during this part of the season, and that experience could be invaluable when the team needs so many of the key pieces to be working at their highest efficiency level.
Does Grayson make any sweeping changes? Probably not, but giving Tom Brady more weapons that have a history in the offense (and one that blocks very well on the outside) certainly doesn’t hurt.
It hurt to see Cyril Grayson get cut, maybe the Bucs can solve that here by re-signing him.
