Early fan-vote results are out for the Pro Bowl, with one Tampa Bay Buccaneers veteran leading the way for his position so far in the NFC. It’s one of the few accolades for the Buccaneers so far in 2022.

The 2022 NFL season hasn’t been all too kind for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers so far. That being the case, we’ll take any good news we can get as it pertains to the Buccaneers at this point. With the first results of the fan votes for the Pro Bowl released, we have just that.

Ryan Succop, the 2009 Mr. Irrelevant and the Buccanneers kicker since the 2020 Super Bowl championship season, is currently leading the NFC in received fan votes with 40,087 to this point. So far he’s 23-26 on field goal attempts with a long of 54, to go along with a perfect 15 for 15 on extra point attempts. With his perfect 100% on extra points coupled with making his field goals at an 88.5 % clip, it’s easy to see why he’s considered the best in the conference in the eyes of fans.

Now yes. The fact that Succop has only attempted 15 extra points and we’re approaching December is just alarming. If that isn’t the best sign of the general ineptitude of the offense so far then the challenge is officially laid down to find a better one. That said, let’s just take what we can get here.

While it is true that most people consider the Pro Bowl to be beyond useless by now, that’s more the “game” itself. What it still is though, is a resume-builder for every player in the NFL when it comes to their overall career legacy.

While many things will change from now until the end of the regular season (fingers crossed one of those is the fortune of the Bucs) that doesn’t mean we can’t take the small victories as they come since the big ones have been so elusive. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers might not have much so far in 2022, but they do still have Tom Brady, and the best kicker in the NFC at this point in the season according to fans.

Next. Another positive. dark
