The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have missed the presence of Logan Ryan on the field. The good news is that it sounds like he should be back soon.

The Buccaneers defense has been way better than the Buccaneers offense through the better part of the 2022 season.

There have been a few defensive slip-ups with the better teams like the Chiefs, but if we’re being honest, who doesn’t struggle in a situation like that? It’s the best offense in the NFL.

However, it would be more than fair to say that the Buccaneer defense has overall been at its best when defensive back Logan Ryan is on the field. This is part of the reason why his loss over the past few weeks has hit so hard.

Can the defense succeed without Ryan? In part. We have seen it in flashes, but it is impossible to say that the team is better or even on the same level without the veteran.

The good news for Tampa is that Ryan should be on his way back rather soon.

This is good news for a team that needed some good news to lean on after that painful loss the other night. Ryan probably doesn’t shift that terrible performance from an L to a W, but he assuredly has a role to play over the next few weeks as the Buccaneers absolutely have to string some wins together.

It will be good to see Ryan back on the field, especially after the Bucs have seen injuries to almost all of their starting defensive backs at various points in the season.

Hopefully he makes it back onto the field in the early part of that window. The Buccaneers sure could use the talents of Logan Ryan.
