Zach Wilson has likely played one of his final snaps with the Jets. The Buccaneers, a team that will keep their eye on the market, could be in the mix.
The next few months are going to be very busy for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they scramble to to adapt to life without Tom Brady.
Could the GOAT return for one more season? The move is certainly on the table, but this is likely a low-possibility option in the grand scheme of things after what we have seen this season.
With all that being said, the Buccaneers are going to need to find a new quarterback to lead their team, especially if Todd Bowles wants to keep his job. The odds are high that at least one new quarterback will come in to compete with Blaine Gabbert and Kyle Trask for the starting job, and it stands to reason to Jets quarterback Zach Wilson could be in the mix.
Wilson is coming off a terrible season and desperately needs a change of scenery. The Bucs are having their own bad season and could use as many bodies in the quarterback room as possible to ensure that the right guy could win the job.
There might not much confidence surrounding Wilson and his future right now, but the Bucs getting to take a shot for a late-round pick might not be the worst idea. There is certainly some arm talent and athleticism there (more than Trask) and he is younger than Gabbert, so Buccaneers fans should expect to see this marriage mentioned every so often as the Wilson situation devolves even further in New York.
It wouldn’t be perfect , but the Buccaneers need to do something if they want to keep the franchise afloat. Perhaps they look at a recent second-overall pick as a potential solution to their coming issue.
