Buccaneers face one less obstacle versus Panthers
By Rob Leeds
While it does feel like a lot is working against the Buccaneers right now, not having to face Jaycee Horn in the must-win game is going to make life easier.
The Buccaneers have had to overcome a lot this season to stay in a position to compete for the NFC South title.
Winning this game against the Carolina Panthers this weekend has become the most important feat for this team all season, and it seems like that feat has become slightly easier with the news out that the Panthers will be without one of their best players in Jaycee Horn.
No one ever wants to say that a player being injured and unable to play in their franchise’s most important game of the season is a good thing, but this does help the Buccaneers when you get down to it.
The Tampa passing attack has left a lot to be desired this season. Horn has been one of the best corners in football with some extremely impressive stats. It doesn’t take much to see how this will hopefully make life easier for the Bucs.
The above stats are the ones that would give the Buccaneers some major headaches on Sunday. The revitalized Panther defense is headlined by the ability to get after the quarterback through Brian Burns and force turnovers with a quality group of players across the board that are led by younger names like Horn.
The Panthers might prove to be a difficult test for the Buccaneers without Horn on the field, but news like this is certainly going to impact the game plan for Tampa. Hopefully they end up throwing the ball a bit more knowing one of the best corners in the league isn’t going to be playing.
