Potential Trade Package: Picks No. 57 (Round 2) and No. 160 (Round 4)

One potential destination is already starting to surface, even with the request being extremely recent news.

New York Giants fans heard the news and took to Twitter to clamor for Joe Schoen to add White to an already budding defense. It’s not a bad idea in theory, as White seems like the type of luxury addition a rising team like the Giants could make to ensure their trajectory continues upward.

What Brian Daboll was able to do with Daniel Jones last year was nothing short of a miracle, and Wink Martindale took a defense that was so-so in 2021 and turned it into an absolute monster unit. White sliding into the linebacking corps would pair him with free agent addition Bobby Okereke and form a tandem not unlike the one was in with Lavonte David and Shaq Barrett in Tampa Bay.

If the Giants are willing to give White the extension he wants — or gamble on franchising him in 2024 and making a deal later — it feels like a second and fifth-round pick could get a deal done. This would give Tampa Bay two picks within seven selections of one another and put them in a situation to double up on second-round talent. One of those picks could be used to trade back into the first round to draft Hendon Hooker and get him on a rookie contract without having to sacrifice picking in the second round to get him.

New York makes sense as a destination, and if the Bucs can land an additional second-round pick and then some for White then it seems like a potential win-win.
