Tampa Bay Buccaneers GM Jason Licht said that the team wants to add one more free agent quarterback before training camp, so who should he call?

Now that the NFL Draft is behind us, it’s time to truly start looking ahead to what the future holds for the Buccaneers.

Specifically, training camp is the next big signpost of the offseason and it sounds like the roster still has some changes to undergo before we get there.

Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht said that the team is still in the market for a quarterback and will likely add a veteran before training camp. Right now Baker Mayfield and Kyle Trask are poised to battle in camp for the starting role, and no matter who is signed it’s likely that one of those two emerges in Week 1 as QB1.

That got us thinking about who the Bucs could sign to fill out the quarterback room.

Trevor Siemian was on this list but the Bengals had to be rude and sign him before this was finished. It’s also an endorsement of Siemian and the remaining free agent quarterback class and what they can offer a team.

If the Bucs are going to dip back into the quarterback pool and add a third guy to the room before training camp, who should get the call?

QB. Miami Dolphins. Teddy Bridgewater. 4. player. 59.

This isn’t the first time Bridgewater has come up as a potential option for the Bucs, but he remains on the board.

Remember when he was an option back in 2020 before the Bucs signed Tom Brady? This could be a full-circle moment.

Bridgewater could also legitimately come in and compete for the starting job, which makes him unique on this list. He’s been plagued by injuries his entire career, something that has largely held him back from being able to consistently tap into what he did with the Carolina Panthers back in 2020.

That season Bridgewater finished the year with career-highs in career-high completions, passing yards, touchdowns, and rushing yards. Keep in mind that was just three years ago, and the idea that Bridgewater has nothing to offer is terribly misguided.

If nothing else, Bridgewater will come in and be a surprise challenger for the starting role and might even end up winning it outright.
