Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans are being thrust back into detective mode after Devin White posted another cryptic message on Twitter.

Another day, another cryptic message from Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Devin White.

White sent Bucs fans into a frenzy back in March when he posted some cryptic messages on Instagram that seemed to indicate his time in Tampa Bay was nearing an end. He initially walked those fears back by claiming that he was just reflecting on his time with the team and how fast his career has gone since being drafted, but he contradicted himself shortly there after.

Not long after he brushed off the Instagram messages as nothing to worry about, White formally requested a trade out of Tampa Bay.

So it turns out there was something to his original messages.

All of this revolves around his contract, which is going to expire after this upcoming season once he completes his fifth season with the team. White wants a new deal, one that will pay him in the range of Roquon Smith, but the Bucs aren’t forking over $100 million to keep him around.

Things can change and the price might come down, but the source of these strange messages seems to be White using them as negotiating tactics to get the money he’s owed.

White is back at it again, this time pulling his teammates into the fray.

On Thursday, White posted a ‘Thank You’ message to Lavonte David.

Yeah…I know.

Just like the messages he posted back in March, this could easily be walked back as simply paying his respect to his fellow teammate and partner in the linebacking corps. David and White, when they’re both firing, form one of the best linebacking duos in the NFL with both having Pro Bowl-caliber talent.

David is also a Buccaneers legend, and for as good as White has been he still has a ways to go before he’s on the same level. It makes sense that he’s simply randomly paying respect to a legend as his fifth offseason alongside him begins.

It’s also easy to see this as a farewell message, as they’re typically framed the exact same way.
