The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a disappointing 2025 season, finishing 8-9 and missing the playoffs for the first time since 2019.
But despite the team’s struggles, there were a few individual players that performed at a high level throughout the season.Â
As the NFL reveals the annual Top 100 list, these Buccaneers deserve to be ranked among the league’s best.Â
3 Buccaneers that deserve a spot on the NFL’s Top 100 list
Before we get into naming the Buccaneers’ Top 100-worthy players, it’s important to clarify that some of the team’s elite players will be omitted after missing significant time due to injury.Â
Mike Evans, Luke Goedeke, and Chris Godwin Jr. are examples of players from the 2025 roster that won’t be included despite possessing Top 100-caliber talent.Â
Tristan WirfsÂ
Tristan Wirfs is one of the NFL’s best offensive linemen, and is already on a Hall of Fame trajectory.Â
He’s made the Pro Bowl in five of his six seasons, and has also earned a total of three All-Pro nods.Â
He missed five games due to injury last year, but his 12-game sample size was enough to earn a spot on the Top 100.Â
Wirfs earned a 92.7 PFF grade, ranking second among all offensive tackles. He finished top-five in both pass blocking and run blocking, and once again cemented himself as an elite player that should rank very high on the Top 100 list.Â
Baker MayfieldÂ
Baker Mayfield’s performance declined throughout the second half of the season, and while it might’ve been his weakest season as a Buccaneer, he was still a solid quarterback that gave his team chances to win.Â
Mayfield led the Bucs to a 6-2 start, including four game-winning drives in the first five weeks, and was a frontrunner for MVP.
After Panthers QB Bryce Young was revealed to be ranked No. 98 on the list, it’s almost a guarantee that Mayfield will have a spot as well. Mayfield bested Young in yards, touchdowns, and passer rating — and is overall a much more feared and respected player by his peers.Â
Mayfield ranked No. 50 on last year’s list, and while he might not rank that high this time around, he should be a safe bet to land inside the top-75.
Jamel Dean
Jamel Dean is no longer on the Buccaneers after signing with the Steelers in free agency, but his 2025 season is deserving of recognition.Â
He ranked as PFF’s No. 3 overall cornerback, and notched a career-high three interceptions. He was mostly lockdown in coverage, and had the best season of his career.Â
By letting him walk and go to Pittsburgh uncontested, Tampa Bay is betting that his elite year was a one-off, or they’ll really grow to regret letting him leave Tampa Bay.
