There were so many heartbreaking moments in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Week 12 loss to the Rams that it's hard to narrow it down.

Not only did the Bucs get embarrassed on Sunday Night Football, but they have now lost four of the last five and plummeted in all credible Super Bowl odds. Literally adding injury to insult, Baker Mayfield left in the second quarter with a sprained AC joint, which could keep him out of action for next week.

It was an utter disaster that was impressive even by the low standard the Bucs have set, but there's no time to wallow. What the team can do is look back and see what went wrong and how things can be fixed before the season fully goes off the rails.

Baker Mayfield "Fail" Mary

After grabbing his left shoulder in terrible pain earlier in the second quarter, disaster struck. Head Coach Todd Bowles thought it was a good idea for Mayfield to attempt to heave a pass 63+ yards for a Hail Mary that injured the quarterback even more.

After eluding pressure, Mayfield stepped up and threw his whole body behind a pass that ended up falling 20 yards short of the endzone, and was intercepted. Immediately after releasing the pass, Mayfield fell on the ground in pain and grabbed the same left shoulder. After about 15 seconds, Mayfield got up and walked off the field, into the tunnel.

Fans don't know why Bowles thought it was a good idea for his injured quarterback to attempt to make a desperation Hail Mary going into halftime of a 24-point game. Even without the injury, this play summed up the Bucs' evening.

Davante Adams' 24-yard touchdown reception

This play summed up the Bucs' night defensively. Zyon McCollum was tormented all night by future Hall-of-Fame Davante Adams, and this touchdown was the nail in the coffin. On a quick streak, Matthew Stafford hit Adams on a beautiful 24-yard touchdown pass, building the lead to 21.

This play showcased the Rams dominant offensive performance, and the Bucs' inability to stop a nosebleed. This was Adams' second touchdown of the evening, and encapsulated the essence of Tampa Bay's evening.

Cade Otton dropped pass pick-six

This play was heartbreaking. Still early in the game, the Bucs are nearing midfield. A quick pass to Cade Otton seemed like an easy 7-8 yards, until he couldn't hold onto it. After bobbling the pass for a second or two, the tight end juggled it into the arms of the Rams defender, who took it back for six.

What initially seemed like a solid, productive play turned into an absolute disaster the Bucs never came back from. This pass was Mayfield's first interception of two on Sunday night, in a forgettable performance.
